Histopathologist

Reporting to the Scientific Director, as Histopathologist your responsibilities will include responsibility for the day to day planning and co-ordination of the Histopathology Laboratory. You will be involved in the development of histopathological laboratory tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. You will supervise and participate in the performance of routine and specialized procedures, including experimental design, procurement of specimen material, microscopical interpretation and reporting.

The successful candidate must have an accredited Pathology Designation (human or animal) and a minimum 2 years full time experience in histopathology.

The successful candidate will also have:

• thorough knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices
• considerable knowledge of the procedures used in histopathology
• ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees
• ability to develop and refine procedures for use in the preparation of histopathology slides
